A CELEBRITY was spotted at a Herefordshire supermarket by a fan who asked for a photo.

Television presenter Richard Hammond was seen shopping in Ross-on-Wye on January 20.

Hammond was noticed by the exit to Morrisons when Paul Newman asked him for a snap together.

Mr Newman, from Cinderford in the Forest of Dean, got the chance to smile and pose with Hammond at the shop exit.

A week later on January 27, another fan Trudy Stanton-Barnes was delighted to bump into Hammond at the supermarket check-out, and managed to grab a selfie with him.

Mrs Stanton-Barnes said that Hammond was very friendly to her after she politely asked him for a photo.

Hammond lives in the nearby village of Weston-under-Penyard and is often seen shopping in Ross-on-Wye.

Hammond used to present the hit TV motoring show Top Gear, and is also known for programmes like Total Wipeout and Brainiac.

His latest show Richard Hammond's Workshop follows his work at his classic car workshop in Rotherwas, Hereford, called the Smallest Cog.
