SINGING is good for the soul and the Ledbury Community Choir certainly hits the right note when it comes to having fun.

The Choir has grown exponentially since its inception in 199 and now has around members who meet at Ledbury Rugby Club every Monday evening.

They sing all sorts of songs from classical to pop and are always open to new members who want to test their vocal chords.

Ledbury Community Choir was established in 1999 as a four part choir, based at John Masefield High School with about 35 members.

The choir has grown and now has approximately 80 members. They are welcomed at Ledbury Rugby Club every Monday evening at 7.30.

A spokesperson for the choir said: “We welcome all those over 18 who like to sing. There is no need to read music as we all get support and practice tracks.

“We usually have 4 concerts through the year both formal and informal including our very popular Christmas celebration.

“It is generally agreed that singing does so much for us physically, socially and spiritually and Ledbury Community Choir members would certainly bear testament to that.

“Above all, we have fun!”
