A MAN has died after he was found collapsed on land in Stourbridge.

The man, believed to be in his 40s, was found on land off Birmingham Street yesterday (Tuesday March 26) at around 3.40pm.

Police and medics attended, but sadly nothing could be done to save the man and he was declared dead at the scene. 

The area of woodland off Birmingham Street was cordoned off with police tape. 

Police said the death is not suspicious and has been referred to the coroner. 

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We were called to Birmingham Street, Stourbridge, just before 3.40pm yesterday after a man was found collapsed on a patch of land.

"Sadly he was pronounced dead at the scene.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner."

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: " We were called to reports of a medical emergency on Birmingham Street at 3.46pm yesterday, one ambulance and a HART paramedic attended the scene.

"On arrival we discovered one patient, a man.

"However, sadly it quickly became apparent nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene."
