A HEREFORD shop that has been closed for four years has been taken over.

Hawkin's Bazaar, a gift and toy chain collapsed into administration in January 2020.

It meant that its Hereford shop was one of many in Maylord Orchards area of the city that has remained empty.

However, a new shop has now taken over the unit, which is set to open on Wednesday (April 3).

Crosskeys Stores, which designs and manufactures unique and bespoke fire pits, benches and wall plates in decorative metal, announced the news on its Facebook page.

The firm, whose headquarters is in Mortimer House, off Holmer Road, has a market stall in the city centre.

However, its new shop will mean that it will be able to stock more items than people would usually see at the stall.
