HUNDREDS of people are to take to the streets of Hereford as part of an annual charity race.

Now in its 44th year, RUN Hereford will take place on Sunday, May 12. 

It is open to anyone to take part, with a half marathon, 10km and 5km races all featuring.

To make the day safe and enjoyable for everyone taking part, the following roads will be closed:

  • Stretton Sugwas roundabout (A480 and A4103) to the Roman Road junction with Tillington Road (opposite Ned Potter Ltd) from 9.30am to 2.00pm
  • Tillington Road between Roman Road (A4103) and the crossroads near Burghill Valley Valley Golf Club between 10am and 11am.
  • Crowmoor Lane (near Burghill Valley Golf Club)  – all directions 10.00am to 2.00pm

Diversions will be in place, with marshals on hand to answer any queries and allow access to and from homes and businesses when deemed safe to do so.

Drivers are advised that, because around 300 runners will be taking part in the 5K event in Roman Road between the Stretton Sugwas roundabout and the Tillington turning, with a strict road closure being in place with no access between 10.20am and 11.20am.

Money raised from the event will will go towards the palliative and end-of-life care provided by the St Michael's Hospice, and towards support for patients’ loved ones.
