TWO Herefordshire burger joints have been named among Britain's best.
In total, three West Midlands burgers have been named in the list of 38 brilliant British burgers.
LoveFOOD.com’s picks for Britain’s best burgers includes Hereford’s Beefy Boys and Burger Shop. The very best burgers, categorised by UK region, were revealed by the food-based media company “in celebration of International Burger Day” on August 8, 2024.
The website’s selections were “based on genuine user reviews, awards and accolades, and the first-hand experience of our team.”
Burger Shop
One of Herefordshire “most lauded fast-food joints”, LoveFOOD described the Burger Shop as “a laid-back spot” but with “seriously gourmet” offerings, “making delicious use of the tastiest local and seasonal ingredients.”
“The kimchi beef really is something special,” said LoveFOOD of the Burger Shop’s “umami-rich” grass-fed beef patties, double cheddar, kimchi ketchup, gochujang mayo and homemade kimchi burger.
Having myself recently tried their viral sensation, the Worcester blue burger, the Burger Shop’s food is definitely flavour-packed. Absolutely covered with delicious blue cheese, sweet beer onions, a delicious roast garlic mayo, Stokes' ketchup and some refreshingly fresh, crisp baby gem lettuce, it was a “truly delightful dining experience”.

Beefy Boys
A Burger of the Year and Burger Chef of the Year award winner at the 2023 National Burger Awards, it would have been amiss of LoveFOOD not to include Herefordshire burger titans ‘The Beefy Boys’.
Specially mentioned by LoveFOOD as a burger “customers can’t get enough of” is the dirty boy double smash – “a gloriously messy tangle of two smashed beef patties, crispy bacon, beef dripping onions, ‘dirty’ mayo and double American cheese.” Personally, as with my Burger Shop order, my favourite Beefy Boys burger has to be ‘The Blue Boy’.

LoveFOOD also commended the Beefy Boy’s option of swapping beef for a vegetarian alternative, despite their heavily meat-based name.
The Beefy Boys’ burgers are beloved by many and have even been named “officially the best burger in the UK,” in Parliament by North Herefordshire’s new MP, Ellie Chowns, in her maiden speech.
Both Burger Shop and Beefy Boys undoubtedly deserve their spot on LoveFOOD’s best UK burger list.
