SCHOOLS across the UK have been officially ranked, but not off academic achievements, rather based on how content the pupils are.
Using parent-provided data from Ofsted, The Sunday Times has compiled a list of local authority schools where children are the happiest.
The data has been retrieved thanks to the Ofsted Parent View Survey, where parents and guardians are asked to answer a series of questions about their child's time at the school.
Sadly, not all county schools have been included, as the Sunday Times' data only includes schools where with at least 500 pupils and 100 parent submissions and uses the survey year with the most responses during the period of 2020 to 2025.
1. St Mary's RC High School
Student happiness rating: 94 per cent
This data was collected from the 2024/25 Parent View Survey, where 61 per cent of 140 parents strongly agreed that their child was happy at the school.
33 per cent agreed their child was happy at the school, whilst three per cent opted for disagree and strongly disagree.
2. The Bishop of Hereford's Bluecoat School
Student happiness rating: 89 per cent
Out of 204 responses, 44 per cent strongly agreed that their child was happy at the school, with 45 per cent agreeing.
Six per cent of respondents disagreed, while five per cent strongly disagreed.
3. John Kyrle High School and Sixth Form Centre Academy
Student happiness rating: 86 per cent
Out of 218 responses, 45 per cent strongly agreed that their child was happy at the school, with 41 per cent agreeing.
Eight per cent of respondents disagreed, with five per cent strongly disagreeing.
4. John Masefield High School
Student happiness rating: 84 per cent
Out of 177 responses, 39 per cent of respondents strongly agreed that their child was happy at the school, with 45 per cent agreeing.
11 per cent of respondents disagreed, and four per cent strongly disagreed.
