A FOURTEEN foot Burmese python named Barry delighted care home residents during an exotic animal visit.
The reptile was the star attraction at Hunters Care Home in Cirencester during a visit from JJ’s Reptiles Exotic Encounters, based in Swindon.
Other visitors included more snakes, a gecko and a scorpion.
Ben Sandall, activities co-ordinator at Hunters Care Home, said: "Our residents have really had fun with their unusual visitors today.
"Animal encounters like this are so popular at Hunters, especially when they are on the more peculiar side.
"It was a first for many of our residents and it was great to see them so relaxed and enjoying the experience."
JJ’s Reptiles Exotic Encounters offers incredible hands-on experiences for care homes, schools and parties.
One resident, Mavis, said: "I wasn’t sure how I would feel coming face to face with a snake, but they were so calm and I enjoyed every minute."
Hunters Care Home is operated by Barchester Healthcare.
