LEGENDARY comic and fisherman Paul Whitehouse has been caught in Leominster.

The comedian who presents a hugely popular show with Bob Mortimer about fishing, called in to the Fishermen's Arms after being at Docklow Pools.

He revealed to the staff that he had indeed landed a fish that day.

He was also asked about the biggest debate - beans on a plate or in a cup with the full English breakfast.

The comic, who is 67 refused to be caught out and instead gave a line from his famous Fast Show routine.

He joked instead: " OOhh full English aww it suits you sir, beans in a pot or on a plate, aww suits you madam."

Paul lives in North London and presents the hugely-popular Gone Fishing programme with his friend and fellow comic Bob Mortimer. The series has been running on the BBC since June 2018 and has just been commissioned for an eighth time.

Bob Mortimer recently described fishing in the River Wye the best in the world.

Docklow Pools was the first ever commercial fishery built back in 1972 and described as the most beautiful place of its kind in the UK.

It has a 14 lakes for members and residents of which three are available on a day ticket.

In addition there are two private River Wye stretches, and another on the River Lugg and another on the Teme at Broadway for residents only.
