A MARKET town school is set to remain closed until further notice after fire crews were called on Monday morning.

A spokesperson for Ledbury Primary School confirmed in an announcement that the fire has been extinguished, but the school will remain closed until further notice.

They added: "Thank you so much to our wonderful community for pulling together, and of course to our incredible fire service who responded so quickly."

The announcement came after firefighters were called to the school in Long Acres at 8.15am on Monday morning (April 20).

National Grid said its engineers attended to make the site safe by isolating the electricity supply, which is standard practice in situations like this.

They added that the issue was with the school’s own internal electrical equipment, not the National Grid network.
