A tennis club is serving up an open day with friendly rallies and a warm welcome.
Ledbury Tennis Club, based at The Southend, is inviting people of all ages and abilities to pick up a racket and join its open day on Saturday, June 6, from 11am to 3pm.
The event will coincide with Ledbury Community Day, offering visitors a chance to try tennis in a friendly, informal setting.
Lucy Potter, recently appointed chair of the not-for-profit club, said: "Ledbury Tennis Club continues to grow and thrive with a strong membership across a broad age demographic and anyone who wants to play tennis is welcome to come along and give it a go.
"Tennis clubs are often perceived as being exclusive, but that couldn't be further from the truth when it comes to Ledbury Tennis Club.
"Our open day is part of Ledbury’s community day, providing the chance for anyone heading into the town that day to come along for some fun with some of our friendly members."
The club will offer tennis and walking tennis sessions, with all equipment supplied.
Walking tennis is a slower-paced version of the game, designed for those who may find it difficult to move quickly around the court.
Visitors are asked to wear trainers or tennis shoes, but all other equipment will be provided.
Refreshments will be available throughout the day, and a team of volunteer members will be on hand to assist both on and off the courts.
The club, which features three artificial grass courts and a clubhouse with catering amenities, is a 10-minute walk from Ledbury town centre and parking is available on-site.
Membership options start from £15 per year for juniors, with options for adults, young adults, weekday players, and more flexible packages.
Regular sessions include Rusty Rackets, held every Wednesday from 5.30pm to 6.45pm, which welcomes non-members and offers a friendly and supportive way to get into tennis.
No booking is required for the open day, and visitors are welcome to drop in at any time.
