HUNDREDS of pounds have been raised for the family of a Hereford man who died less than five weeks after his pancreatic cancer diagnosis.
Andy Childs, 61, died in the early hours of August 16, less than five weeks after he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
Sienna Bell, a neighbour of the family, said his death had left them "devastated". She has launched a GoFundMe appeal to help pay for his funeral and support his son, Nathan.
Ms Bell described Mr Childs as someone always willing to help others, and who would do "anything for anyone".
She added that he was loved and thought of highly by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
"His loss has left a huge hole in the lives of his family, friends and everyone who knew him," she said.
"I’m hoping that, by coming together, we can take a little of the financial pressure away from his family and help give him the funeral he deserves, allowing them to concentrate on grieving and saying goodbye to someone so special.
So far, the fundraiser has raised over £1,600 of the £2,000 target.

Mr Childs was the owner of Childs Play Bouncy Castle Hire, based in Hereford.
A spokesperson for the business said: "Andy supplied a lot of fun to a lot of families.
"He loved doing his job and we ( his family) want to thank all of the support over the years."
His funeral is to be held at Hereford Crematorium on Tuesday, September 8 at 1.15pm. The family have requested family flowers only, and any donations to be given to St Michael's Hospice.
