HOUSE music is making waves from an unlikely location.
Back2House Radio, a 24-hour station dedicated to the wide genre, broadcasts from a narrowboat on the Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal and has already reached listeners in more than 190 countries.
The station, launched in April 2024, is female-created, run and managed, with a strong Midlands identity and a Worcestershire connection.
DJ MJ, founder of Back2House Radio, said: "From our floating studio we're bringing together DJs and house music lovers from the Midlands and much further afield, while proudly retaining our Worcestershire and Midlands identity.
"We're passionate about supporting DJs and keeping house music culture thriving, particularly outside the traditional major-city music scene."
The station now has more than 50 DJs involved and has attracted nearly 50,000 unique listeners worldwide.

In addition to its radio broadcasts, Back2House Radio organises the House Across the Decades Festival Weekender, which took place in 2025 and 2026.
The event brings together legendary house music artists alongside local and national DJs and producers.
DJ MJ said the station is keen to share its story and showcase its unusual setup.
The team believes their story highlights the importance of independent enterprise, women in broadcasting, and life on the waterways.
DJ MJ's bi-weekly Friday show promises to take listeners on a "house music rollercoaster across the many years and sounds."
Other DJs include Paulie Bow with 'it's just a house thing', Alexa Maria with 'beats for breakfast' and Emma M & Neil Willis's 'the live life show' billed for "lovers of feel-good, dancefloor-driving music."
On the second Saturday of every month, listeners can tune in to dance music pioneer Todd Terry's InHouse Records Radio Show on the station.
The DJ and producer also plays rare groove and floor-filling mixes along the way.
