SWIFTS travelled to Holme Lacy for their first game of the new season.

Both teams started extremely well with each teams goalkeepers having to make saves in the early stages.

It was also great goalkeeping skills from Bethani Williams that denied Colts the very early lead.

Swifts’ Emily Paske, Katy Nash and Alex Lee all had early shots that were saved.

However, it was Colts that broke the deadlock.

It was determination by Swifts to press forward that led to great passing of the ball by Alice Fleck, Megan Rowland and Lucy Boswell and a well-deserved goal from Paske. Swifts worked tirelessly & great defending by Bethany Allcock kept the scoreline level at half-time.

The start of the second-half was very much end-to-end.

Swifts piled on the pressure but it was a shot by Paske which Colts goalkeeper kept it out but went loose & was well spotted by Boswell to pick up & score in the right hand corner.

Just a few minutes from the end Colts levelled the score.
