LEDBURY Swifts entertained Pegasus on Sunday and were hoping to leapfrog their rivals into second place.

The game was only 40 seconds old when Craig Pierce broke away and put Ledbury into a 1-0 early lead.

Ledbury had several more good chances with Thomas Trigg going close after his long distance shot hit the bar.

There were also further chances for Max Coleman, Lewis Hammond and Harvey Moss.

Midway through the first-half good work by Tom Webb enabled Craig Pierce to score his second. The game looked to be all over for Pegasus when in-form striker Pierce completed his hat-trick when he spotted the Pegasus goalkeeper off her line and his perfectly timed lob found the back of the net.

Ledbury made it 4-0 just before half-time when a perfectly weighted pass by Harvey Moss picked out pierce for his fourth goal of the day.

The hosts took their foot off the pedal in the second half but the highlight of the half was an excellent reflex save from Swifts stand-in goalkeeper Mikey Gooch, who had an outstanding game.

Pegasus did manage a consolation goal after a better second-half.
