Each half-term JMHS holds a Challenge Day – the opportunity to do something different for the day, learn about a new subject or broaden our horizons.
Year 9 looked at the complexities of running a business, Year 8 learnt about the dangers of alcohol and so on.
The Sixth Form, however, felt that the most important element of life at the school to indulge 5 hours in was a chance to get to bond as a new senior force to be reckoned with, so we organised an ‘It’s A Knockout’ tournament at Ledbury Rugby Club.
It was a fantastic day of crazy races, inflatable obstacle courses and hugely competitive behaviour as the four houses fought it out for crucial house points.
Throughout the day, the focus was on forging a new sixth form who would be able to lead by example in their enthusiasm for school events. Judging by the laughter that permeated the day, I think we could easily call the event a success!
