LEDBURY Swifts Rovers recent erratic league form continued, with a 6-1 defeat at home to Ross Juniors.
Ledbury had beaten Ross 3-0 away last week, and started the game brightly, taking a deserved lead from a fine right-foot strike from the impressive Kieran Slatter.
The visitors were put under significant pressure, with Joseph Bullock going close from long range, and Daniel Gale almost heading home from a corner to double the lead, but Ledbury found the visitors’ keeper in inspired form.
Ross then turned the game around just before half-time with two quick goals in as many minutes to take a 2-1 lead into the break.
Ledbury once again started brightly, but a defensive error, and an own goal gave Ross a significant three-goal advantage.
Ledbury again pushed hard to get back in the match, but failed to find a breakthrough against a stubborn defence and an inspired goalkeeper, and the away side scored two further goals from defensive mistakes to cap a hard-earned victory.
