LEDBURY Swifts Rovers showed all their resiliance to beat Pegasus Colts in the quarter-final of the Mailes Cup.

In an even opening exchange there were few chances for either side, with both defences on top.

Ledbury started to impose themselves on the game, but a stubborn Pegasus Colts defence refused to concede and chances were limited prior to half-time.

Ledbury started slowly in the second- half giving the ball away cheaply, but then began to get on top of the visitors and opened the scoring midway through the second-half with a superbly worked team goal finished off by Kieran Slatter from a neat Kieran Loveridge pass.

Ledbury then missed several good chances to put the tie out of reach.

The visitors pushed hard in the final minutes of the match, but failed to find a breakthrough against a stubborn defence, and it was Ledbury who should have scored a second on the break before the final whistle.
