LEDBURY Swifts’ first league game since December 14 saw them host Ross Junior Colts. Ross started the brighter of the two teams, opening the scoring after five minutes, but some good play by Dan Reilly saw him get the equaliser after 10 minutes. Both teams tried to get in front on the scoresheet, with end-to-end play, and on 15 minutes Ledbury were awarded a penalty, which Charlie White failed to convert. Ross then took the game to Ledbury for the remainder of the first-half, scoring on 23 and 25 minutes, to make the score 3-1 to them at half-time.

The second-half started with Ledbury trying to get back into the match, and some good attacking play by Lewis Potter always posed a threat to the Ross defence. At the other end Ross came close, with only some brave goalkeeping by Ben Read preventing Ross scoring a fourth goal. Some neat passing by Ledbury saw Liam Cale score Ledbury’s second goal 20 minutes into the half. Ledbury then seemed to step up a gear, and captain Charlie White scored Ledbury’s third on 25 minutes. With only five minutes left Ledbury continued to press forward, looking to snatch a winning goal at the end. However, the final whistle blew with the score at 3-3. Player-of-the-match went to Lewis Potter.
