LEDBURY Swifts progressed through to the semi-finals of the Tony Cole Cup, with a 1-0 win against Bartestree.
The match was a credit to both teams as they both battled for a place in the semi-final of the competition.
Bartestree had the better of the first-half and managed to hit the Ledbury’s post with the best chance of of the match.
Ledbury did manage to edge the second-half with more goal-bound chances than Bartestree but when the final whistle was blown the game was stalemate at 0-0.
Extra-time was needed to sort out both teams before a penalty shoot-out was required. But with only minutes remaining in the first period of extra- time Tom Webb was quickest to react as he headed home from close range to put Ledbury 1-0 up.
The second-half of extra-time produced no further goals and the win gave Ledbury a semi-final home tie against Leominster.
