BROMSBERROW UNITED u12s 3, GOLDEN VALLEY u12s 7.

AFTER a four-week break due to the inclement weather, Bromsberrow entertained Golden Valley in a cup match.

The visitors took an early lead in the sixth minute with a low shot.

Bromsberrow battled back and midway through the half Tom Skittery hammered the ball into the top corner of the net from the edge of the penalty box.

Both sides tried hard to get the next vital goal creating good openings but in the last few minutes of the half Golden Valley scored three quick goals to lead 4-1 at the break.

The away side made it 5-1 straight from the restart. Bromsberrow kept plugging away and midway through the half Harry Williams was quick to tap the ball into the net after the keeper spilled a good shot.

Golden Valley then scored two more quick goals. However, Bromsberrow never gave up with Freddie Coleman forced into some good saves and Harrison Oakshot-Francis slotted in the last goal of the game to end an entertaining clash.

LEDBURY SWIFTS ROVERS u10s 2, LEOMINSTER MINORS u10s 0.

LEDBURY Swifts Rovers showed all their resilience to beat a much-improved Leominster Minors side.

In an even opening exchange there were few chances for either side, with both defences on top.

Ledbury tried to impose themselves on the game, but a stubborn Leominster defence refused to concede and chances were limited prior to half-time.

Rovers again started slowly in the second-half giving the ball away cheaply, but opened the scoring midway through the second-half with a neat finish by Kieran Slatter.

Ledbury were then guilty of several missed chances to put the tie out of reach, but the second came five minutes from time, with a fine Slatter strike.

The visitors pushed hard in the final minutes of the match, but failed to find a breakthrough against a stubborn defence before the final whistle.

LEDBURY started the brighter of the two teams, passing the ball accurately between the players. There was an early breakthrough for Ledbury on six minutes with Lewis Potter opening the scoring. Unfortunately, a rare error by host goalkeeper Ben Read saw Leominster equalise on 11 minutes. This fired Ledbury up with two quick goals in two minutes scored by Charlie White and Potter.

Potter completed his hat-trick after 22 minutes. Liam Cale added Ledbury’s fifth goal shortly after to make the score 5-1 at half-time.

Leominster started the second-half by getting their second goal three minutes into the half. Ledbury quickly came back with a corner resulting in a shot by Neil King being deflected into the Leominster net. Ledbury continued to dominate the match with a well-taken, long-range shot by Dan Reilly giving Ledbury their seventh goal of the match. Cale got a further three goals.

LEDBURY SWIFTS u12s 6, PEGASUS GIRLS u12s 1.

AFTER a disappointing display against Ross Rockets the week before which they lost 3-2, Swifts entertained Pegasus on Sunday and were determined to put that result behind them.

Swifts pressed forward from the start with great ball passing from Bethany Allcock and Bunny Bruton in midfield to enable the combination of Emily Paske and Katy Nash to break the deadlock after eight minutes with Paske scoring. Pegasus created chances but the great defence of Alice Fleck, Megan Rowland and Charlie Rankin prevented them from scoring.

This was promptly followed by Nash increasing the scoreline further to 3-0. Swifts dominated the game with another Nash shot being saved and Bethani Archer Williams shot going wide. A minute before half-time Pegasus scored.

After the break, Pegasus put pressure on Swifts, with keeper Lucy Boswell having to make a series of fine saves.

However, with much encouragement from Swifts supporters on the sidelines, Nash who was in excellent form, extended the scoreline to 4-1. Swifts’ Bunny Bruton and Nash scored later.
