It was then end-to-end but two goals gave the visitors a comfortable lead at the break.

The second-half started off with Credenhill making it 5-1 with a low shot.

BROMYARD TOWN u10s 0, LEDBURY SWIFTS ROVERS u10s 0.

LEDBURY Swifts Rovers travelled to local rivals Bromyard and managed a goalless draw.

In blustery conditions, there were few chances for either side, with both defences on top.

The visitors tried to impose themselves on the game, but a stubborn Bromyard team refused to concede, and chances were limited prior to half-time.

Ledbury again started slowly in the second- half giving the ball away cheaply and Bromyard worked tirelessly to ensure a close encounter.

Town almost opened the scoring midway through the second-half only to be twarted twice by Liam Bowers.

Rovers were then guilty of several missed chances themselves, but it was Bromyard who came closest to breaking the deadlock striking the bar from close-range.

The visitors pushed hard in the final minutes of the match, but failed to find a breakthrough against a stubborn Bromyard defence before the final whistle.

LEDBURY SWIFTS u11s 3, WESTFIELDS u11s 0.

LEDBURY played host to second-placed Westfields in a top-of-the-table encounter.

After an even start to the match, it was Ledbury who finally opened the scoring after a long goal-kick by Rory Atkins picked out Craig Pierce who calmly finished giving Ledbury a 1-0 lead. The goal gave Ledbury confidence and shortly afterwards Jake Robson did well to score Ledbury’s second with an overhead kick.

The second-half was another tight encounter with Tom Webb battling well in midfield and the defence of Joe James, Max Coleman, Callum Robinson, Lewis Hammond and Tom Trigg keeping another clean sheet.

Up front, Dan Batty tried to make it three but the final goal was left for Harvey Moss who from a tight angle managed to squeeze the ball in off the goalkeeper and post and give Ledbury the win.

The well-earned three points keep Ledbury firmly top of the table.

On Sunday, Ledbury travel to Leominster (ko 2pm).

LEDBURY SWIFTS GIRLS u12s 5, HINTON GIRLS u12s 2.

THE first 10 minutes was very much end-to- end, however, with Swifts’ sub Emily Paske brought on the game turned around in the hosts’ favour.

With the combination of Paske and Katy Nash up front this paid off with three well-deserved goals by Nash in succession.

Excellent midfield and defensive play by Swifts denied Hinton any goals to this point.

In the second-half Hinton came out the stronger of both teams and pressed forward to bring the score to 3–2.

This paid off with Nash in excellent form once again to increase the scoreline further.

Shortly before the final whistle Paske seized the ball in a scrambled Hinton’s goalmouth area to hit in the back of their net.

WESTFIELD COLTS u11s 1, LEDBURY SWIFTS WANDERERS u11s 2.

WANDERERS travelled to second-in-the- table Westfield Colts, for what was expected to be a difficult match, as Westfield had only lost one game all season. However, the referee awarded a penalty to Westfields after 25 minutes for a handball in the box. Their goalkeeper converted from the penalty spot to put Westfields in the lead. That advantage only lasted two minutes, as Ledbury attacked the goal and Dan Reilly scored the equaliser. Ledbury then continued to press the Westfield goal and a goalmouth scramble lead to an own-goal which made the score 2-1 to Ledbury at half-time.

In the second-half Ledbury pressed forward when able, but as the match continued they found themselves playing more and more in their own half. However, much to the jubilation of the players and watching parents, Ledbury managed to hold on.
