CREDENHILL JETS u11s 2, LED SWIFTS WANDERERS u11s 2.

WANDERERS travelled to Credenhill for their latest league match. The visitors began the match the brigher of the two teams and McCoy Shergill opened the scoring for the visitors after 14 minutes, with Liam Cale adding a second goal three minutes later. Credenhill tried to get back into the match and got their first goal on 28 minutes, making the score 2-1 to Ledbury at the half-time whistle.

The second-half began with both teams playing evenly, but Credenhill managed to get the equalising goal 14 minutes into the half. This provided for a very tense finish to the match, with both teams looking to claim the winning goal. Swifts were unlucky not to go ahead, when Credenhill somehow managed to clear a goal-mouth scramble. Swifts also had two late corners, but could not find the back of the opposing net. This was the second time these two teams have drawn this season.

LADS CLUB u10s 1, LEDBURY SWIFTS ROVERS u10s 3.

SWIFTS Rovers travelled to cup finalists Lads Club, and turned in a fine display with an impressive victory.

In the opening period the visitors were dominant with Lads Club put under sustained pressure from the start, and it was no surprise when Ledbury opened the scoring fine left-foot strike from Joseph Bullock.

Ledbury soon doubled their lead with a well-worked team goal, finished with a stunning Sam Branch strike. Bullock then effectively ended the tie prior to the break with another long-range effort, this time with his right foot. After the break, Ledbury were again quick into their stride and continued to impose themselves on the game, only for wasteful finishing to deny them any further goals.

Lads Club strived gamely to gain a consolation and it arrived with a late well-taken goal.

LEOMINSTER MINORS u11s 1, LEDBURY SWIFTS u11s 2.

LEDBURY travelled to Leominster on Sunday and were made to work hard by a well-drilled team.

The first-half was played at a fast pace with both teams producing half chances at either end.

Midway through the first-half a through ball by the Leominster defence beat all Ledbury players and a Leominster striker’s shot found the back of the net giving Minors a 1-0 lead.

The hosts found themselves in a battle and responded well when a mix-up in the Leominster defence led to Tom Webb snatching a deserved equaliser 10 minutes later.

Both teams went into half-time all square after an exciting first period.

The second-half was another nip and tuck affair with both teams producing good chances and the Leominster keeper making several good saves.

With 15 minutes remaining, a through-ball picked out Harvey Moss and his well-hit shot gave the Leominster keeper no chance and handed Ledbury a 2-1 lead.

The final quarter of the game was a close encounter but Ledbury battled well to hang on to a vital win.

The victory sees them remain unbeaten and also keeps them top of the table.
