THE future provision of the arts, sport and libraries will be among the services discussed by Herefordshire Council next week.
The council’s cabinet will meet on Thursday to look at the findings of the cultural services review.
It covers a range of services including arts, sport, libraries, countryside and heritage, as well as the services provided by the Courtyard in Hereford and Halo’s leisure facilities, with a view to retaining services and making sure they are viable in the long-term.
Three options have been outlined.
The first would see services combined and delivered through a single external body, the second would group services together based on the people who use them and the way they are used, while the third would see the authority retain the majority of servicess. It is proposed further work will be conducted along with a public consultation on future arrangements.
