I would like to urge all businesses to have their say on the Worcestershire LEP’s Local Industrial Strategy (LIS) Prospectus.

At the LEP we are always working to improve the county’s business environment and the LIS document outlines Worcestershire’s 2040 vision for developing a connected, creative and dynamic economy.

Worcestershire’s LIS prospectus also currently focuses on the following foundations of productivity: ideas, people, infrastructure, business environment and places.

Our strategy highlights the county’s sector strengths and economic assets including advanced manufacturing, cyber security, agri-tech, professional services, construction and digitisation of health and care. The document also goes into some detail about how the county will improve its rail connectivity, workforce skills, town centres and digital connectivity by 2040.

We have developed the document thus far in collaboration with partners and the local business community, to identify Worcestershire’s strengths and seek to address the productivity challenge for the local and national economy.

To help develop this strategy further, we are asking the businesses for additional comments on the outline content of the document and the key sectors that have been identified within. We’re also keen to understand whether businesses have any feedback on the four focuses of productivity for helping to boost the local economy.

The Consultation Prospectus document is available on our Worcestershire LEP website, wlep.co.uk

It is crucial that all of the county’s businesses and organisations are involved in this process and are sharing their views with the team, as the LIS will help to shape the direction of the county’s economy for many years to come.

To submit your feedback by the October 10 deadline, email enquiries@wlep.co.uk or call 01905 672700.
