THIS week has seen some important news for the country with the announcement of social distancing being relaxed. This now means that many organisations can now plan to return to operation from July 4.

If any businesses are looking for support, funding or guidance during this time, speak with Worcestershire Business Central. Their team have the latest information from Government to help support businesses in the county. You can find their details at the end of this article.

Sticking with the positive news, the county has had some great news from the Careers and Enterprise Company. On Tuesday they announced wave 3 of Careers Hubs for the UK, Worcestershire was selected within this to have another careers hub, but this new one will be dedicated to middle schools.

This is a tremendous result and a testament to hard work that the Worcestershire Careers hub team are doing alongside the fantastic support of local businesses and educational establishments.

This announcement now means that Worcestershire has complete geographical coverage with all eligible schools’ part of the careers hub network.

A careers hub works with schools and employers to help improve the careers support and guidance provided to young people by increasing the number of interactions they have with local businesses.

I am truly pleased to see this announcement as it furthers the progress we have made and will ensure that going forward more young people get better careers provision within their development.

We now need the support of more local organisations to work with these careers hubs to help build the county’s future workforce. Employers have a great opportunity by supporting this initiative to inspire young people to follow a career in your industry or company.
