POLICE investigating a fatal collision near Staunton, which took place last month, have identified potential witnesses and are asking them to come forward.
At around 2.20am on Tuesday, June 28, a fatal road traffic collision occurred between a white Ford Transit van and a pedestrian on the A417.
A police spokesman said: "The pedestrian, a 41 year old local man was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the van, a 37 year old man from the Newent area was uninjured.
"We have reviewed CCTV within the area at the time and are appealing for the occupants in three vehicles to come forward."
The spokesman added: "Between 1.35am and 1.45am, a grey coloured 4x4 and two light coloured vans, possibly a Sherpa and a Ford Transit, were travelling in the area of the collision.
"The drivers and passengers of these vehicles are urged to make contact with police as they may have vital information to help with enquiries. Call 101 quoting incident 37 of June 28."
