LEDBURY Carnival programmes are out and available at various locations all over the town, as well as online.

The Market Town's 43rd Carnival will take place on Bank Holiday Monday, August 28, with the grand procession leaving Ledbury Rugby Club on the Ross Road at noon, before travelling up New Street and turning left into the High Street, at around 12.35pm.

The procession will them travel up the Homend before turning for a final stop at Ledbury Primary.

The theme of this year's Carnival will be "A Novel Idea", so there will be plenty of favourite books being represented.

The big stage in the town centre will be managed by Hereford Hospital Radio and live entertainment will include The Sequins, at 1pm and 4.15pm; Ledbury Community Brass Band, at 2pm and 3.30pm, and Nice and Sleazy, at 2.30pm.

The grand draw for raffle prizes will be at 4pm.

Street entertainment will be provided by the Paper Wizard, Looby Lou and Joey the Juggler.

Family fun at the Feathers Hotel will include Punch and Judy; live music and a barbecue.

The Ledbury Horticultural Flower Show will take place in the Community Hall, Lawnside Road, and 93 classes will be on show. It will be open to the public at noon, for a small entrance fee.

There will be disabled parking in Market Street, by the Community Hospital.

Blue Badges must be displayed.

The car parks of St Katherine's, Bye Street and Lawnside Road will be closed for Carnival Day, from 6am to 8pm.

But limited parking will be available at Bridge Street car park.

A park and ride service will be operating from Ross Road, opposite the Rugby Club.
