ON Saturday I was in Ledbury for the Community Day that brought together the many facades of Ledbury excellence, amidst the warmth and support from all those members of the public who attended.
I witnessed the crowds in St Katherine's, the Burgage Hall, touring the Master's House, as well as in the streets, churches, community centre and other venues.
The rain did not dampen spirits, even in the walled garden, and with the ubiquitous 'Bill the Bell' promoting the many events on offer, there was a fun and carnival-like atmosphere.
We were rewarded by the sunshine later in the day, which had the impact of encouraging people to stroll around the town visiting the other attractions.
The small and very hard-working organisers of this hugely successful event are to be congratulated and thanked in equal measure for providing the opportunity to showcase the skills and talents of the Ledbury community.
