WITH reference to your story about Mary Kidson (October 24), it is not illegal to purchase prescription drugs over the internet, so long as they are for the use of the purchaser or their immediate family.
This was confirmed by the MHRA (medicines and healthcare products regulatory authority) on February 13, 2014, in writing to Sheila Turner of TPAUK.com.
This is a short extract from that letter: "There are no formal restrictions on an individual importing medicines into the UK provided they are strictly for use by that person or a member of their immediate family. "
