HOW did your child's school celebrate their Ofsted report?

Maybe a thank you letter to parents or pats on the back all round?

A school in Oldham has raised the bar when it comes to celebrating after teachers created their own music video to announce the news.

Hodge Clough Primary School, in Oldham, which first opened in 2011, was praised both for its academic success of its children and for creating a positive environment for children.

And after finding out about their 'Good' rating, staff in the school decided to mark the big moment in unusual style with a parody video of the James Brown song I Feel Good.

The video has been watched by hundreds of people online after they announced the inspectors had described the school as 'happy and harmonious'.

The report adds: “Leaders have put in place an interesting and well-balanced curriculum. They ensure that pupils’ learning in different subjects builds on what pupils already know.”

Additionally, inspectors were positive towards the school’s emphasis on keeping pupils fit and healthy, older pupils being excellent role models, and the lack of poor behaviour from pupils.

However, there were some criticisms of the primary school, including recommendations that pupils with disabilities or educational needs are provided with books matching their reading level.

Hodge Clough Primary is a large school with nearly 460 children from Nursery to Year 6.

Head teacher Neil Cavanagh has led the new primary school since it first opened.

He said: “Children are the heart of what we do at Hodge Clough. Our school team of teachers, support staff, parents and governors all work towards the very best for every child. We are tremendously proud of our school and its children.

“Our staff work extremely hard and that shows in our happy school where children succeed.

"A big thank you to all our team, children, parents, staff and governors.”

Martin Matthews, chair of governors and a national leader of governance said: “Our children are fantastic and its great everyone can see that in the Ofsted report."
