A QUICK-thinking passer-by helped stop a car that rolled into the road in Malvern.

Emergency services were called to the scene, just after 11.30am this morning (Friday, April 13) after a Honda Accord travelled down a hill and into the carriageway on Albert Road North, near Malvern Hills College.

No one was inside the vehicle at the time of the incident.

Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said a member of the public wedged a door stop under a wheel to stop the car from moving, whilst the fire service made their way to the scene.

A Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crew from Malvern made the vehicle safe.

West Mercia Police said the owner was left a note on the car and that they called officers and said they would return to the vehicle.

The road was closed from 11.41am and is thought to have reopened at before 1.30pm.
