REDDITCH residents are being invited to take a winding step back in time at Forge Mill Needle Museum.

A special exhibition, entitled The River Arrow flowing through Redditch History, has been organised by Redditch Local History Society.

Anthony Green, from the society, said: "The River Arrow came into existence at the time of the last ice age nearly 12,000 years ago and pre-dating the habitation of the area.

"Over the following millennia, it has seen early man, the Roman invasion, the great Anglo-Saxon kingdoms, the Norman Conquest, the expansion of monasteries, the Industrial Revolution, the urbanisation of the population and the development of the modern new towns."

He added: "This exhibition, using photographs, maps, drawings and artefacts, explores the history of this little river and its importance to the history of the town and the local area."

The exhibition, the last for 2018 at Forge Mill, runs from now until November 25.
