THE daughter of a former Stourbridge author is holding a book signing at the town's library next week where she will be honouring her late mothers's work.
Honour Gardiner will be at Stourbridge Library on Thursday November 8 when she will be selling and stamping books with the signature greeting of her late mum Jo Mary Stafford - author of Light in the Dust.
The event, Meet the Author's Daughter, will run from 2pm to 3pm.
Jo Mary Stafford published her Light in the Dust autobiography in 2002. The book documenting her struggle to survive post-war poverty and oppression as a young woman growing up in Walsall was written in the Black Country dialect and proved a hit with readers and reviewers alike.
She had been planning a sequel but suffered a stroke while editing it and passed away six months later in 2017.
Her daughter hopes to release the sequel in her mother's memory at some stage in the future.
