A MAN has denied sexual assaults, including one said to have taken place in Worcester, and making threats to kill.

Philip Wall appeared at Worcester Crown Court on Wednesday before judge Jim Tindal where the four count indictment was formally put to him by the clerk.

The 53-year-old, who has a care of HMP Hewell address, denied two counts of sexual assault, one on July 10 last year in Worcester and the other on August 13 last year in Studley. Both alleged sexual offences were said to involve the touching of a woman's breasts and to have been committed against two complainants. The particulars of the offence are that in each case he touched the complainant's breasts and that he did not reasonably believe either woman was consenting.

He further denied two counts of making threats to kill, both said to have been committed against two different complainants on November 9 last year.

The particulars of the alleged offences are that without lawful excuse he made threats to kill intending that those people would believe those threats would be carried out.

The case was prosecuted by Andrew Wilkins and Wall was represented by Martin Butterworth.

The trial is scheduled to take place on April 1 at Hereford Crown Court. Before the trial a pre-trial review is set to take place on Tuesday (March 26).

The defendant was remanded in custody until the next hearing.
