THERE will be a chance to learn about the job that pets do to help people to keep well.
Dogs involved with Pets as Therapy will be at Orvis in High Street, Ludlow on Saturday between 11am and 4pm.
Pets not only provide companionship but can also have a big part in promoting physical and mental health.
Taking a dog a walk gives people a reason to get out and about and to exercise.
There is also a claim that there is a link between stroking a dog or cat and lowering of blood pressure.
Support Dogs is a registered national charity dedicated to increasing independence and quality of life for people with various medical conditions.
It provides, trains and supports specialist assistance dogs.
The dogs provide three specialist forms of assistance, for people with autumn, as alert dogs for people vulnerable to seizure conditions such as epilepsy and to help give people with disabilities greater independence.
Dogs are also taken into places such as hospitals, hospices and nursing homes where they will interact with staff and patients.
People will get an opportunity to meet some of the dogs, take part in a name the bear competition and there will also be a guide for eating in Ludlow for people who take their dogs with them. Funds will be raised during the day.
