TWO businesses from Herefordshire have been recognised with the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise 2019, one of the most prestigious awards for UK businesses.
The awards are designed to recognise and encourage outstanding achievements in the fields of Innovation, International Trade, Sustainable Development and Promoting Opportunity.
The winners of the Queen’s Awards were announced yesterday to celebrate the Queen’s 93rd birthday.
Prometheus Medical, of the Old Rectory, Hope under Dinsmore, and Spectra Group, of Bridge Court Barn, Kingstone, were named as winners after gaining recognition for their exceptional work in their respective categories.
The good news continued with Ledbury-based The Helping Hand Company also being awarded the Queen’s Award for International Trade for its work with commercial partners and local authorities at a national and regional level to support community engagement.
Sharon Smith, chief executive of Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce, said: “I’m thrilled that chamber members have been recognised in the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise 2019.
"I’d also like to extend my congratulations to The Helping Hand Company for its success too.
“The awards highlight the brilliant and innovative businesses that we have in the region, and continue to show the strength of our exporters despite the current and often challenging conditions.”
