ALL that jazz will raise funds for the air ambulance, at an event organised by Pershore Jazz and Pershore Rotary clubs.

A spokesman said: “Pershore Jazz and Pershore Rotary clubs are jointly presenting a Gala Charity Jazz Night on May 17, featuring the world-renowned Pasadena Roof Orchestra. The event will be held in Pershore’s Number 8 Community Arts Centre and all proceeds from the event will go to support the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity who save lives by saving time.

“The Pasadena Roof Orchestra, celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, is one of UK’s finest dance bands playing music from the roaring 1920s and elegant 1930s. The orchestra’s unique style, attention to musical detail, and relentless sense of fun soon became a hit, not only in the UK, but worldwide. The orchestra has toured the USA five times to critical acclaim and has performed at the Albert Hall and Buckingham Palace.”

That’s a huge draw, but that’s not all.

Thomas ‘Spats’ Langham, a popular local musician from the Cotswolds, will be playing guitar and banjo with the orchestra in Number 8.

He said: “It’s a great honour to perform with the orchestra in Pershore during our 50th anniversary year tour and it feels even better knowing that all profits from the event will be going to a very worthwhile cause, the Midland Air Ambulance Charity”.
