A BLACK Country brewery has teamed up with a legendary Stourbridge metal band to create a special, rock-themed beer.
Kinver Brewery has joined forces with 80's new wave metal band Witchfinder General to create the eponymous 'Witchfinder General' beer.
Kinver's brewers David Kelly and Paul Meng were joined by the band's guitarist Phil Cope in the brewery to create the new porter, after striking up a friendship.
David explained: "Given the current trend for breweries to collaborate with rock bands we wanted to do something together."
Witchfinder General were part of the vanguard of the new wave of British metal in the 1980's and their success paved the way for bands such as Metallica and Megadeth.
The new brew will be launched at the Robin Hood pub in Amblecote on Wednesday May 22 from 7pm.
Describing the new concoction, David Kelly said: "It's a 5.5% porter so it's dark and heavy, like the band!"
After the launch, 'Witchfinder General' will be available in pubs across the Black Country.
