A YOUNG woman from Ludlow who spent her Christmas and New Year battling the waves of the Atlantic Ocean in mid-winter was part of a team that raised £6,000 for a charity that increases awareness of the harm caused by dumped plastics.
Kate Salmon was part of a crew that took part in the Kate’s Talisker TransAtlantic Challenge.
Subsequently gave a short, 10 minute TEDx talk on her experience and it’s just been made available on Youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oU4ZKUu5VSA
She’s now back at work as a climate scientist at the Met Office in Exeter.
Kate is an accomplished oarswoman but has no plans for a further adventure - not yet anyway.
