A BODY believed to be that of a missing 18-year-old man has been recovered from the water in Shavers End Quarry, Stourport.

A thorough search was carried out by emergency services today after a man was seen to enter the water at the quarry yesterday evening (Sunday July 7).

The body was recovered at around 3.45pm today (Monday July 8) by police divers from North West Police underwater search team who have been helping West Mercia Police with the investigation.

No formal identification of the body has taken place, but it is believed to be the body of the man that entered the water yesterday.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner.

Next of kin have been informed and police have asked that the “family's privacy be respected at this time.”
