The Shuttle reported at the time how 14 people suffered ill effects when tear gas was sprayed in Nu Bar at around 1.35am on Saturday, March 31, last year.

Two of those treated by paramedics at the scene were taken to hospital and later discharged.

One of the hospitalised victims, 24-year-old Laura Gray later told the Shuttle that she had felt a burning sensation to her chest, arms and face, and at first feared acid had been thrown on her.

Lock was arrested an hour after the incident and Lamb was arrested several weeks later.

Following the court appearance, investigating officer Det Con Tom Pritchard from Kidderminster CID said: "CS gas - also known as tear gas - is illegal to carry in the UK and is treated as a firearm.

"This was a completely irresponsible act which was very frightening for those involved, and caused multiple emergency services to attend the incident on the night.

"I'm pleased that we were able to arrest the defendants and subsequently bring them before the courts."
