A FRENCH restaurant in Kidderminster has launched a new menu based on its customers' favourite flavours to celebrate its 25th birthday.

Riverside restaurant Bistrot Pierre launched its 'Best of Bistrot Pierre: as voted by you' menu this week, based on dishes voted for by diners.

And co-founder John Whitehead said Kidderminster voters had some "particularly unusual" choices.

He said: "We asked our customers to submit their favourite dishes and, after counting more than 5,300 votes, we created a bespoke birthday menu which celebrates our customers, our food and our heritage.

"Our customers are part of our story and they’re central to the group’s success – so we knew we wanted to do something to celebrate our 25th birthday that involved them."

The menu is available at lunchtimes throughout August, and features 12 classic dishes including French onion soup, coq au vin and creme brulee, as well as the ever-popular boeuf bourguignon.

John added: "Some of the dishes voted for in Kidderminster were particularly unusual, including salmon mousse and soupe de poissons, which truly reveal how food trends have evolved over the last 25 years.”

The first Bistrot Pierre opened in Nottingham in 1994, with its Kidderminster restaurant opening in 2017 – joining the group’s 24 nationwide bistrots.

Annie Yarsley, general manager of the Exchange Street branch, added: “For users of our loyalty app – Mon Pierre – the menu will also be available Sunday to Thursday evenings.

"There really is something for everyone and we can’t wait to welcome customers to the bistrot to sample our unique new menu and join our 25th birthday celebrations.”

‘Best of Bistrot Pierre: as voted for by you’ has two and three-course options available, priced at £12.95 and £14.95. To book a table, visit bistrotpierre.co.uk/book-a-table or call 01562733610.
