NEARLY £5000 was raised at charity gin and tea event at a Bewdley Bed and Breakfast.

Graham and Judith Bullock of Kateshill House held the garden event in aid of Save the Children, now celebrating their 100th year, on Sunday, August 4.

Over 150 guests attended, each enjoying a glass of gin on arrival, before indulging in afternoon tea and cakes.

Singer Sophie Ritanne provided the entertainment, delighting the guests, and local auctioneer Chris Smith presided over the auction of the many donated


A bottle Tombola over 100 bottles and a grand raffle all contributed to the magnificence sum of £4700 that was raised for Save the Children.

Judith said: "It was a very successful event.

"We have raised tens of thousands for charities over the years.

"It was a nice Sunday afternoon in a beautiful marquee."
