KIDDERMINSTER Hospital will not benefit from Boris Johnson's £850 million spending pledge to upgrade 20 UK hospitals.
On Monday, August 5, the Prime Minister made the announcement that the NHS would receive an extra £1.8 billion boost.
Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust confirmed they were not on the list of 20 to receive additional funding.
Paul Brennan, Deputy Chief Executive at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, said: “There was no bidding process for the recent release of capital funding. We do have two proposals which are developed which we plan to submit for the next round of capital funding.”
Wyre Forest MP Mark Garnier said: "If there is going to be a spending spree we need to get more money in Worcestershire.
"We are proposing the MPs get together and have a conversation about this and work out what it means specifically for us.
"It won't leave us worse off, but we could have been better off than we are now."
Johnson announced the plans to upgrade hospitals across the country inn his first speech on the steps of 10 Downing Street shortly after becoming Prime Minister.
