A MAN was injured after the car he was driving crashed into a lamppost and barriers in Halesowen.
Medics were called to the scene on Dudley Road, just after 1.30pm yesterday (August 13) to find the car with significant front end damage.
Witness Shaz Saleem, owner of Express Taxis which is based near where the accident took place, said he was disturbed by a 'massive, massive bang'.
Shaz explained: "It was quite frightening. I went out outside and saw everything had came to a standstill.
"The guy in the car was shook up and the air bags were out."
Quick-thinking Shaz spotted clear fluid trickling out of the car, so quickly called the emergency services and pulled the man to safety.
A spokesman from West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed that the man, who was in his 60s, was assessed at the scene and taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham for further treatment.
