THERE will not be a firework display to round off the Worcester Festival on Monday, for the first time in 17 years.

The firework display has been scrapped after the festival organisers decided to spend the money in other ways.

Festival director

Chris Jaeger said: “

This has been a big decision for us, and one that we have not taken lightly, but we believe that this is the right time for a change, and that this decision will allow us to move the Festival forward in a really positive way."

"We always want to put on lots of great things for children, for families and for everyone, and the money freed up will enable us to offer more free community events than ever before."
