IT was a super Sunday for two lucky people in Eckington who scooped a cash prize of £30,000 each over the weekend all thanks to their lucky postcode.

The neighbours netted the windfall when WR10 3DQ was announced as a winner with People’s Postcode Lottery on Sunday.

The duo were the only people playing with the winning postcode and chose to remain anonymous, but had any of their neighbours been playing then they too would have picked up a cheque for £30,000.

People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Judie McCourt sent her congratulations and said: “What a weekend for our winners in Eckington.

“I’m over the moon for them both and I hope they treat themselves to something special with the cash.”

A minimum of 32 per cent of ticket sales goes directly to charities and good causes. Players of People’s Postcode Lottery have helped raise more than £462 million to date for projects across Britain and internationally.

This draw was promoted on behalf of children’s cancer charity Clic Sargent. Clic Sargent has received over £7.3 million thanks to players of People’s Postcode Lottery to help with its mission of supporting children and young people with cancer, as well as their families.

Local charities win too and last year, player funding helped the Avon Navigation Trust and its Pershore Weir Island Wildlife Project.

£3,500 in funding raised by players assisted with plans to develop a wildlife and community haven, making an attractive space for residents and tourists and securing long-term biodiversity in the region.
