A 20-year-old man has admitted intimidation after he threw stones at a window in an attempt to get a witness to change his statement and to 'help his brother'.

Kyle Saunders of Woodmancote, Worcester, admitted one count of intimidation when he appeared at Worcester Crown Court yesterday.

The offence happened in Tunnel Hill, Worcester, between July 5 and 8 this year and involved him throwing stones at a window to get a witness to change his statement.

The case was prosecuted by Paul Whitfield. Saunders was represented at the hearing by Martin Butterworth.

Recorder Benjamin Nicholls said that Saunders appeared to have had 'quite a bumpy ride' on the community order and asked if there was 'an issue with drugs'.

"I don't believe so" said Mr Butterworth.

In a basis of plea Saunders said the incident happened 'spontaneously without any real thought to the consequences'.

"His intention was to try and help his brother" said Mr Butterworth.

The court was told the probation service would need three weeks to prepare a pre-sentence report to assist with the sentence Saunders will receive.

The case was adjourned until September 20. Saunders was granted bail on condition he does not have any contact, directly or indirectly, with the complainant and does not attend his address in Tunnel Hill in Worcester.

He must also live and sleep at the address he has supplied to the court.

The judge added a further condition that Saunders co-operate with the probation service in the preparation of a pre-sentence report.
