A CHARITY that supports blind people is desperately appealing for volunteers to join their organisation.

Worcester Talking Newspaper sends out recordings of local news, read directly from the Worcester News, to around 120 visually impaired people on a weekly basis.

The charity is seeking for reliable volunteers to help with simple administration duties on Thursdays.

The role would also involve making sure the recordings are read for collection, by the Post Office, on Friday mornings.

Training would be arranged to suit but preferably on a Thursday afternoon.

Once confident, the checking of returned recordings happens any time after 12.30pm on Thursdays, taking between one and a half to two hours.

Copying from master memory sticks and putting into wallets ready for post collection takes about an hour on a Friday morning and is simple and straight forward.

The charity needs volunteers on a four-week rota, and occasionally cover for other volunteers if they are away.

For just a couple of hours volunteering each month, it benefits 120 visually impaired listeners.
